Your vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and 3-point seat belts for the driver and front passenger seats.
The SRS consists of airbags located in the center of the steering wheel and in the front panel above the glove box on the passenger side. The airbags are marked with the "AIR BAG" label.
The function of the SRS is to supplement the protection provided by the seat belts for the driver and front passenger in the event of a severe frontal impact.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury associated with deployment of the front airbags, observe the following precautions:
- All vehicle occupants must be properly secured with seat belts.
- Move your seat as far back from the airbags as possible while still maintaining control of the vehicle.
- Do not lean against the door or center console.
- Do not allow the front passenger to place their feet on the instrument panel.
- Do not place any objects on the steering wheel, instrument panel, or the panel above the glove box, or near these airbag modules. These objects can injure vehicle occupants if the airbags deploy in a crash.
Front Passenger Airbag ON/OFF Switch (if equipped)

Left-Hand Drive

Right-Hand Drive
This switch is used to deactivate the front passenger's airbag for passengers who are particularly at risk from airbag deployment due to age, size, or medical condition.

To deactivate the front passenger airbag:
Insert the key or a similar thin object into the front passenger airbag switch, then turn it to the OFF position. The front passenger airbag OFF indicator light (
) will illuminate until the airbag is deployed.

To reactivate the front passenger airbag:
Insert the key or a similar thin object into the front passenger airbag switch, then turn it to the ON position. The front passenger airbag ON indicator light (
) will illuminate for approximately 60 seconds.
Information
The front passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator light illuminates for approximately 4 seconds after the ignition is turned on.
WARNING
Never allow an adult passenger to sit in the front passenger seat when the passenger airbag OFF indicator light is illuminated. In the event of a collision, the front passenger airbag will not deploy if this indicator light is illuminated. Activate the front passenger airbag or have the passenger sit in the rear seat.
WARNING
If the front passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator light does not operate properly, the following situations may occur:
- The airbag warning light (
) illuminates on the instrument panel. - The front passenger airbag OFF indicator light (
) does not illuminate and the ON indicator light (
) illuminates for approximately 60 seconds. The front passenger airbag may deploy in a frontal collision even if its ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position. - We recommend that you have the front passenger airbag switch and your SRS airbag system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.
