Curtain Airbags (if equipped)

~1min read

The curtain airbags are located on both sides of the roof rails, above the front and rear doors.

They are designed to protect the heads of front and rear seat passengers in certain side collisions. The curtain airbags are designed to deploy only in certain side collisions, depending on the severity, angle, speed, and point of impact.

The curtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all side collisions.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from curtain airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:

  • All vehicle occupants must be properly secured with their seat belts.
  • Properly secure child restraints whenever possible.
  • Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the door, rest their arms on the doors, extend their arms out of the windows, or place objects between the doors and seats.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the curtain airbags.
