Inspection
Check whether the automatic light control operates as described in the table below. The tail light output and headlight (low) output are controlled based on input from the auto light sensor (light intensity) when the auto light switch is activated on the multifunction switch and the vehicle is in ALL1 or ALL2 mode. If IGN1 = ON, the BCM detects this voltage, and if the voltage exceeds the rated voltage, the auto light malfunction appears. (Less than 4 V or more than 6 V)When IGN1 is ON and the multifunction switch module detects activation of the auto light switch, the tail light relay output and the headlight low beam relay output are controlled by the input from the auto light sensor. Automatic light control does not work if the sun light source pin (regulated 5 V power, ignition 1 supply to the sun light sensor) is shorted to ground. If ALL1 is on, the BCM monitors the power supply range and sets a malfunction whenever the supply voltage is outside the permissible range. This malfunction occurs and, while present, the headlights must be activated regardless of the sunlight level detected by the sensor. This prevents the headlights from turning off at night when a malfunction occurs.
