You must maintain a safe following distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
Apply the brakes gently. Excessive speed, rapid acceleration, sudden braking, sharp turns and steep curves are very dangerous.
When braking, make maximum use of engine braking. Sudden braking on snowy or icy roads may cause the vehicle to skid.
Winter tires or tire chains may be required for driving on snow.
Always carry emergency equipment in the vehicle. We recommend carrying the following: tire chains, straps or tow chains, flashlight, emergency warning device, sand, shovel, jumper cables, ice scraper, gloves, floor mat, coveralls, blanket, etc.
