[A]: Outside air, [B]: Recirculated air, [C]: Cabin air filter, [D]: Blower fan, [E]: Evaporator core, [F]: Heater core
The cabin air filter is installed behind the glove box. It filters dust and other contaminants entering the vehicle through the heating and air conditioning system.
Have the cabin air filter replaced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer in accordance with the maintenance schedule. If the vehicle is operated under severe conditions, such as dusty or rough roads, more frequent inspection and replacement of the climate control filters are required.
If the airflow suddenly decreases, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Inspecting the Air Conditioner Refrigerant and Compressor Lubricant
When the refrigerant level is low, air conditioning performance is reduced. Overcharging also reduces air conditioning system performance.
Therefore, if abnormal operation is detected, the system must be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
NOTICE
It is important that the correct type and quantity of oil and refrigerant are used. Otherwise, damage to the compressor and abnormal system operation may occur. To avoid damage, the air conditioning system in your vehicle should be serviced only by trained and certified technical specialists.
NOTICE
- The refrigerant system must be serviced only by trained and certified technicians to ensure correct and safe operation.
- The refrigerant system should be serviced in a well-ventilated area.
- The air conditioning evaporator (cooling coil) is never to be repaired or replaced with one removed from a used or salvaged vehicle. New MAC evaporators must be certified (and marked) as conforming to SAE J2842.
WARNING
Vehicles equipped with R-1234yf
Since the refrigerant is flammable and operates under high pressure, the air conditioning system must be serviced only by trained and certified specialists. It is important to use the correct type and quantity of oil and refrigerant.
All refrigerants must be recovered using appropriate equipment. Releasing refrigerants directly into the atmosphere is harmful to people and the environment. Failure to observe these warnings may result in serious injury.
