Using the Central Door Lock/Unlock Switch

When pressing the (Press part (1) on the switch to lock all doors of the vehicle.

• If any door is open, the doors will not lock even if the central door lock switch button (1) is pressed.
• If the Smart Key is inside the vehicle and any door is open, the doors will not lock even if the central door lock switch button (1) is pressed.

When pressing the (Press part (2) on the switch to unlock all doors of the vehicle.

WARNING

• While the vehicle is in motion, the doors must always be fully closed and locked. If the doors are unlocked, the risk of being thrown from the vehicle in an accident increases.
• Do not pull the inside handle of the driver or passenger door while the vehicle is in motion.

WARNING

Never leave elderly people, children, or animals unattended in the vehicle. A closed vehicle can become extremely hot, which may result in death or serious injury to unattended elderly people, children, or animals who cannot get out of the vehicle. Children may operate vehicle features that could injure them, or they may be exposed to other harm, possibly from someone entering the vehicle.

WARNING

Always secure your vehicle.

If you leave your vehicle unlocked, the potential risk to you or others from someone hiding in your vehicle increases.

To secure the vehicle, while depressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to P (Park), set the parking brake, and press the ENGINE START/STOP button to the OFF position. Close all windows, lock all doors, and always take the key with you.

CAUTION

Opening a door when something is approaching may cause damage or injury. Be careful when opening doors and watch for vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, or pedestrians approaching the vehicle from the direction of the door.

WARNING

If you remain in the vehicle for a long time in very hot or cold weather, there is a risk of injury or danger to life. Do not lock the vehicle from the outside when someone is inside.
