Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

This indicator light illuminates:
When the engine oil pressure is low.
If the engine oil pressure is low:
- Carefully drive to the nearest safe location and stop the vehicle.
- Turn the engine off and check the engine oil level (for more information, refer to the "Engine Oil" section in chapter 9). If the level is low, add oil as required. If the warning light remains on after adding oil, or if there is no oil, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
NOTICE
- Continuing to drive with the warning light on may result in engine failure.
- If the engine is not stopped immediately when the engine oil pressure warning light illuminates, serious engine damage may result.
Information
When engine oil pressure drops due to insufficient engine oil, etc., the engine oil pressure warning light illuminates. In addition, the enhanced engine protection system, which limits engine power, is activated. If engine oil pressure is restored, the engine oil pressure warning light and the enhanced engine protection system are deactivated. However, for the 2.5 GDI gasoline engine, when engine oil pressure is restored, the warning light and the enhanced engine protection system are deactivated after the engine is restarted.
