SRS Care

~1min read

The SRS requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no parts that you can safely service yourself. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, or if it stays on continuously, have the system inspected immediately by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Any work on the SRS, such as removal, installation, repair, or any other work on the steering wheel, instrument panel passenger side, front seats, and roof rails must be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of the SRS may result in serious personal injury or death.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious injury or death:

  • Do not attempt to modify or disconnect SRS components or wiring, including adding any type of emblems to the pad covers or modifying the vehicle body structure.
  • Do not place objects over or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, instrument panel, and front passenger's instrument panel above the glove box.
  • Clean the airbag cover trim with a soft cloth dampened with water. Solvents or cleaners may adversely affect the airbag covers and proper system deployment.
  • Replace deployed airbags at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If SRS components must be disposed of, or if the vehicle must be scrapped, observe safety precautions. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for necessary information.
