Recommended Cold Tire Pressure
Check the pressure of all tires (including the spare) when the tires are cold. "Cold tires" means the vehicle has not been driven for at least three hours or has been driven less than one mile (1.6 km).
The pressure in warm tires is usually 4–6 psi (28 to 41 kPa) higher than the recommended cold tire pressure. Do not release air from warm tires to adjust the pressure, or the tire pressure will be underestimated.
WARNING
The recommended tire pressure must be maintained for proper ride, vehicle handling, and minimum tire wear. Excessive or insufficient pressure can adversely affect tire life, vehicle handling, and may cause sudden tire failure, which can result in loss of vehicle control and a crash. Severe underinflation can cause excessive heat buildup, leading to tire breakage, tread separation, and other tire failures, which can result in loss of vehicle control and a crash. This risk is significantly higher on hot days and during prolonged high-speed driving.
CAUTION
Underinflation causes excessive wear, poor handling, and reduced fuel economy. Wheel deformation is also possible. Maintain correct tire pressure levels. If a tire needs to be inflated frequently, have it checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Overinflation causes a harsh ride, excessive wear in the center of the tire tread, and increases the likelihood of damage from road hazards.
