2 L Engine

This engine is designed to meet all emissions regulations and to provide satisfactory fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded "regular" gasoline with an octane rating of 87, as posted (R+M)/2. Using premium gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher will allow these engines to operate at optimum performance. This increase in performance is most noticeable in hot weather or other more severe load conditions, such as towing.

3.6 L Engine

This engine is designed to meet all emissions regulations and to provide satisfactory fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded "regular" gasoline with an octane rating of 87, as posted (R+M)/2. Using higher-octane "premium" gasoline will provide no benefit over "regular" gasoline in these engines.
