Run Flat Tires — If Equipped

~1min read

Run Flat tires allow you to drive 50 miles (80 km) at 50 mph (80 km/h) after a rapid loss of inflation pressure. This rapid loss of inflation is called Run Flat mode. Run Flat mode occurs when tire pressure is at or below 14 psi (96 kPa). When a Run Flat tire reaches Run Flat mode, driving is limited and it must be replaced immediately. A Run Flat tire is not repairable. When a Run Flat tire is replaced after driving on underinflated tires, replace the TPM sensor, as it is not designed to be reused after driving in Run Flat mode at 14 psi (96 kPa).

NOTE:

The TPM sensor must be replaced after driving the vehicle on a flat tire.

It is not recommended to drive a fully loaded vehicle or tow a trailer with a tire in Run Flat mode.

Refer to Tire Pressure Monitoring. Additional information.
