Engine Compartment Fuse Replacement

1. Turn the ignition key and all other switches off.
2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling the cover. When the blade-type fuse is disconnected, remove it using the clip provided for replacing fuses in the engine compartment fuse panel. When installing, securely insert a spare fuse of the same rating.
3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert a fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.
4. Insert a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits securely in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION
After checking the engine compartment fuse panel, securely install the fuse panel cover until it clicks audibly.
Otherwise, power supply failures may occur due to contact with water.
Multi Fuse

If the multi-purpose fuse is blown, it must be removed as follows:
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the nuts shown in the illustration above.
4. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
5. Perform these steps in reverse order to reinstall the multi-fuse.
✽ NOTICE
Do not disassemble or assemble the multi-fuse when it is secured by nuts and bolts. Incorrect or partial torque during assembly may cause a fire. Have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Main Fuse

If the main fuse is blown, it must be removed as follows:
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the nuts shown in the illustration above.
4. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
5. Perform these steps in reverse order to reinstall the main fuse.
✽ NOTICE
The electrical system may not operate properly even when the engine compartment and interior fuses/relays are not disconnected. In this case, the cause may be a blown main fuse (BFT type) located inside the positive battery terminal (+) cover.
Since the main fuse is more complex in design than other components, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION
Visually inspect the battery cover to make sure it is securely closed. If the battery cover is not closed tightly, moisture may enter the system and damage electrical components.
