Radial Ply Tires

~1min read

Radial tires provide improved tread life, resistance to road hazards, and a smoother ride at high speeds. The radial tires used on this vehicle are belted construction and are selected to complement the ride comfort and handling characteristics of your vehicle.

Radial tires have the same load-carrying capacity as bias-ply or belted-bias tires of the same size and use the same recommended inflation pressure. Mixing radial tires with bias-ply or belted-bias tires is not recommended. Any combination of radial-ply and bias-ply or belted-bias tires used on the same vehicle will seriously degrade vehicle handling. The best rule to follow is: always use radial tires as a set of four.

Tires with a lower aspect ratio may be more prone to uneven tread wear. It is very important to follow the tire rotation interval shown in this section in order to achieve the full tread life potential of these tires. Cuts and punctures in radial tires can be repaired only in the tread area due to sidewall flexing. Consult your tire dealer for radial tire repair.
