Surround View Monitor (SVM)

~1min read

The Surround View Monitor does not replace proper and safe parking procedures. The Surround View Monitor may not detect all objects around the vehicle. Always drive safely and exercise caution when parking.

Surround View Monitor can help in parking lots by allowing the driver to see around the vehicle. Press the button to the [ON] position to operate the system.

To cancel the system, press the button again.

Operating Conditions

- When the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position
- When the shift lever is in the D, N or R position
- When the vehicle speed does not exceed 9 mph (15 km/h).

  • When the vehicle speed exceeds 9 mph, SVM turns off. If the vehicle speed then decreases to below 15 km/h, SVM will not turn on automatically again. To operate it again, press the button.
  • When the vehicle is moving in reverse, regardless of the button on/off status and vehicle speed, SVM operates automatically.
  • Automatic activation of the Surround View Monitor is turned on or off when you select Settings → Vehicle → Driver Assistance → Parking Safety → Surround View Monitor Auto On in the infotainment system menu screen. For more details, please scan the QR code in the separately supplied Vehicle Infotainment System Quick Reference Guide.
  • When the trunk and driver/passenger door are open and the outside mirror is folded, a warning light illuminates in the SVM.
  • If the SVM does not operate normally, the system should be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

WARNING

This system is a supplemental system only. It is the driver's responsibility to always check the area around the vehicle before and while driving.
