Sunroof

~1min read

If your vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, you can slide or tilt the sunroof with the sunroof control switch located on the overhead console.

The sunroof can be used for approximately 30 seconds after the ENGINE START/STOP button is placed in the OFF position.

However, if the driver's door is opened, the sunroof does not operate even within 30 seconds.

CAUTION - Sunroof motor damage

To prevent sunroof damage, periodically remove any dirt that may accumulate on the guide rails.

In cold and humid climates, the sunroof may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.

After washing the vehicle or driving in rain, be sure to wipe off all water on the sunroof before operating it.

CAUTION - Sunroof control lever

Do not continue to press the sunroof control lever after the sunroof is fully open, closed, or tilted. Damage to the engine or system components may result.

The sunroof cannot slide when it is in the tilt position, and cannot be tilted when it is in the open or slid position.

WARNING - Roof load

Do not use the sunroof when using a roof rack to transport cargo. This may cause the cargo to fall and distract the driver.

WARNING

Never adjust the sunroof or sun visor while driving. This may cause loss of control and an accident that could result in death, serious injury, or property damage.

WARNING

Do not allow children to operate the sunroof. This may result in injury to the child.

WARNING

To prevent accidental operation of the sunroof, especially by children, do not allow children to operate the sunroof.

WARNING

Do not sit on the roof of the vehicle. This may cause damage to the vehicle.

CAUTION

Do not extend luggage out of the sunroof while driving.
