Opening the Trunk

  • Make sure the vehicle is in P (Park) and set the parking brake.
  • Press the switch on the trunk after unlocking the door with the smart key.
  • Press and hold the trunk unlock button on the smart key for more than 1 second.
  • Press the switch on the trunk itself while the smart key is in your possession.

✽ NOTICE

The trunk switch is made of rubber. Do not press it with a sharp object such as a nail, key, screwdriver, or drill.

CAUTION

  • If the trunk switch cannot be moved due to freezing, do not press the switch with excessive force. Press the trunk open switch after removing the ice around the switch. You can also open the trunk using the trunk open button on the smart key or inside the vehicle.
  • When using a vehicle with an automatic transmission for car wash, be sure to lock the central door lock switch after the trunk is fully closed.
  • When washing the vehicle with a high-pressure washer, be careful, as the trunk switch may be pressed by the water spray pressure and the trunk may open.

To open the trunk from inside the vehicle, press the trunk lid open button.

✽ NOTICE

In cold and humid climates, the door lock and door mechanisms may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.

WARNING

The trunk lid swings upward. Make sure that no objects or people are near the rear of the vehicle when opening the trunk.
