What to Do in an Emergency

Tire Pressure Check

~1min read

1. After driving approximately 7–10 km (4–6 miles or about 10 minutes), stop in a suitable place.

2. Connect the compressor connection hose (9) directly to the tire valve.

3. Connect the compressor to the vehicle power outlet using the cable and connectors.

4. Adjust the tire pressure to 220 kPa (32 psi). With the ignition ON, proceed as follows.

- To increase the inflation pressure: Turn on the compressor, position "I". To check the current inflation pressure setting, briefly turn off the compressor.

WARNING

Do not operate the compressor for more than 10 minutes, otherwise the unit may overheat and be damaged.

- To decrease the inflation pressure: Loosen the screw cap (8) on the compressor hose.

CAUTION

If the tire pressure cannot be maintained, drive the vehicle a second time, see Distributing the Sealant. Then repeat steps 1 through 4.

The use of TMK may be ineffective if the tire damage is larger than approximately 4 mm (0.16 in).

We recommend that you contact an authorized Kia dealer if the tire cannot be made serviceable using the Tire Mobility Kit.

WARNING

Tire pressure must be at least 220 kPa (32 psi). If it is not, do not continue driving. Call roadside assistance or a tow truck.
