What to Do in an Emergency

Introduction

With the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK), you can remain mobile even after experiencing a tire puncture.

The compressor and sealant system effectively and conveniently seals most punctures in passenger car tires caused by nails or similar objects, and re-inflates the tire.

After you have confirmed that the tire is properly sealed, you can carefully drive on the tire (up to 200 km (120 miles)) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h in order to have the tire replaced by a dealer or tire service center.

Some tires, especially those with large punctures or sidewall damage, may not be fully sealed.

Loss of tire air pressure can adversely affect tire performance.

For this reason, avoid sharp steering or other driving maneuvers, especially if the vehicle is heavily loaded or towing a trailer.

The TMK is not designed or intended for permanent tire repair. It can be used for only one tire.

This procedure shows you step by step how to temporarily seal a puncture simply and reliably.

Read the section "TMK Safety Precautions."

WARNING

Do not use the TMK if the tire is severely damaged from driving while flat or underinflated. Only punctures located in the tread area of the tire can be sealed with the TMK.
