Draining Water from the Fuel Filter

The diesel engine fuel filter plays an important role in separating water from the fuel and collecting water in its bottom.

If water collects in the fuel filter, the warning light illuminates when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

If this warning light illuminates, we recommend that the system be serviced by an authorized Kia dealer.

CAUTION

If water collected in the fuel filter is not drained in time, water entering the fuel filter may cause damage to major components such as the fuel system.
