✽ NOTICE
If you press the engine start/stop button without depressing the clutch pedal on vehicles with a manual transmission, or without depressing the brake pedal on vehicles with an automatic transmission or dual clutch transmission, the engine will not start and the engine start/stop button will change as follows:
OFF ➔ ACC ➔ ON ➔ OFF or ACC
✽ NOTICE
If you leave the engine start/stop button in the ACC or ON position for a long time, the battery will discharge.
CAUTION
If the driver releases the clutch pedal of a vehicle with a manual transmission before the engine has fully started, the engine may not start.
Be sure to fully depress the clutch pedal and brake pedal to start the engine.
WARNING
- Never press the engine start/stop button while the vehicle is moving. Doing so may result in loss of steering and braking function, which may cause an accident.
- The steering column anti-theft lock (if equipped) is not a substitute for the parking brake. Before leaving the driver's seat, always check that the shift lever is in the P (Park) position, fully apply the parking brake, and turn the engine off. If these precautions are not observed, unexpected and sudden vehicle movement may occur.
- Never touch the engine start/stop button or any other controls through the steering wheel while the vehicle is moving. Your hand or arm in this area may cause loss of vehicle control, an accident, and serious injury or death.
- Do not place any loose objects around the driver's seat, as they may move while driving, interfere with the driver, and cause an accident.
