Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. Remove the fuel tank air filter.

    (Refer to Evaporative Emission Control System - Fuel Tank Air Filter)

  3. Disconnect the quick-connector of the vapor hoses (A).

  4. Remove the mounting bolt and nuts of the canister bracket (A), then remove the canister (B).

    Tightening torque: 21.5 - 24 N·m

  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

  1. Visually check for the following items.

    • Cracks or leaks in the canister

    • Poor connection, deformation, or damage of the vapor hose/tube.

    A: Canister ↔ Atmosphere

    B: Canister ↔ Intake Manifold

    C: Canister ↔ Fuel Pump
