Fluid Level Check

When checking engine oil, engine coolant, brake fluid, or washer fluid, always clean the area around the filler cap, drain plug, or dipstick before checking or draining any lubricant or fluid. This is especially important in dusty or sandy areas and when the vehicle is driven on unpaved roads. Cleaning the cap and dipstick area prevents dirt and sand from entering the engine and other mechanisms, which could be damaged.
