Scheduled Maintenance

~1min read

Follow the normal maintenance schedule if the vehicle is normally driven under none of the following conditions. If any of the following conditions apply, follow the Severe Usage maintenance schedule.

  • Repeated short trips of less than 8 km (5 miles) in normal temperatures or less than 16 km (10 miles) in freezing temperatures
  • Extended engine idling or low-speed driving for long distances
  • Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, gravel, or salt-treated roads
  • Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials, or in very cold weather
  • Driving in severely dusty conditions
  • Driving in heavy traffic
  • Repeated driving on hills, downhill grades or mountain roads
  • Towing a trailer, using a camper, or using a roof rack
  • Driving as a police vehicle, taxi, for other commercial use, or towing a vehicle
  • Driving at a speed above 170 km/h
  • Frequent driving in stop-and-go conditions

If your vehicle is operated under any of the conditions listed above, you must check, replace or refill more frequently using the severe duty maintenance schedule instead of the normal maintenance schedule.
