Inspection

Power Relay Inspection (Type A)
  • Do not use pliers.
  • Pliers may damage the relay, which may cause the engine to stall or fail to start.
  • Carefully remove the relay using a relay puller.
Check the continuity between terminals. A: Rear Heater Relay B: EWP Relay C: Anti-Icer Relay D: ACC Relay E: IG1 Relay F: IG2 Relay G: Security Horn Relay H: Fan Relay I: Fuel Pump Relay J: Horn Relay
  1. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage and ground are applied to terminals No. 85 and No. 86.
  2. There should be no continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage is disconnected.
  3. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage and ground are applied to terminals No. 85 and No. 86.
  4. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when the power is off.
  5. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30, 87A and No. 87 when battery voltage and ground are applied to terminals No. 85 and No. 86.
  6. There should be no continuity between terminals No. 30, 87A and No. 87 when battery voltage is removed.
  7. There should be continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage and ground are applied to terminals No. 85 and No. 86.
  8. There should be no continuity between terminals No. 30 and No. 87 when battery voltage is disconnected.
  9. Make sure that there is no play in the fuse holders and that the fuses are securely installed.
  10. Is the rating of the fuse specified correctly for each circuit?
  11. Is there a blown fuse? If a fuse must be replaced, be sure to use a new fuse of the same capacity. Always determine why the fuse blew first and fully correct the problem before installing a new fuse.
Power Relay Inspection (Type B) Check the continuity between terminals. A: Wiper Relay B: Rain Sensor Relay. Power Relay Inspection (Type C) Check the continuity between terminals. A: Engine Control Relay. Power Relay Inspection (Type D) Check the continuity between terminals. A: OPCU Relay B: Cooling Fan Relay. Fuse Inspection: The Multi Fuse is designed to optimize the engine compartment package.
  • The Multi Fuse must be replaced as a complete unit if only one fuse is damaged.
  • When replacing the multi fuse, refer precisely to the "Engine Compartment - Component Location" diagram.
  • Use the correct ratings of the multi fuses for each circuit.
  • Remove the nut cover (A) when removing the nut.
