  1. Using a knife, scrape off the old adhesive to a thickness of approximately 2 mm (0.08 in) on the adhesive surface around the entire windshield opening flange:
    A. Do not scrape down to the painted body surface; damaged paint will interfere with proper bonding.
    B. Remove the grommet and clips from the body.
    C. Mask the surrounding surfaces before painting.
  2. Clean the bonding surface with a sponge soaked in alcohol. After cleaning, do not allow oil, grease, or water to contaminate the cleaned surface.
  3. Install the windshield upper moulding (A) and clips. Make sure there are no gaps.
  4. Install the spacer (A). Temporarily install the windshield (B), making sure to center it, then align the installation marks (C).
  5. Remove the windshield.
  6. Using a sponge, apply a thin coat of body primer to the remaining adhesive around the windshield opening flange. Allow the body primer to dry for at least 10 minutes.
    A. Do not apply glass primer to the body, and be careful not to mix up the glass primer and body primer sponges.
    B. Never touch primed surfaces with your hands.
    C. Mask the instrument panel before painting the flange.
  7. Apply a thin layer of glass primer to the outer side of the fasteners.
  8. Load the adhesive into a cartridge without air pockets to ensure continuous delivery. Place the cartridge in a sealant gun and apply an adhesive bead (A) along the edge of the windshield (B) between the spacer and moulding, as shown in the illustration. Apply the adhesive within 30 minutes after applying the glass primer. Make each bead slightly thicker at the corners.
  9. Using suction cups (A), hold the windshield over the opening, align it with the installation marks (B) made in step 15, and set it onto the adhesive. Apply light pressure to the windshield until its edges are fully seated in the adhesive around the entire perimeter. Do not open or close the doors until the adhesive has cured.
  10. Scrape or wipe off excess adhesive with a spatula or cloth. To remove adhesive from painted surfaces or the windshield, wipe with a soft cloth soaked in alcohol.
  11. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least one hour, then spray water on the windshield and check for leaks. Mark any leak points, allow the windshield to dry, then seal with sealant:
    A. Allow the vehicle to stand for at least four hours after installation. If the vehicle must be used during the first four hours, drive it slowly.
    B. Keep the windshield dry for the first hour after installation.
  12. Install all remaining removed parts. Install the rearview mirror after the adhesive has fully cured. Advise the customer not to do the following for two to three days:
    A. Close doors gently and raise all windows.
    B. Excessively twist the body (for example, when entering and exiting a curb at an angle or driving on rough roads).
  13. Install the following components.
    A. Windshield Defroster Connector (Refer to "Windshield Defroster" in Group BE)
    B. Hood Top Cover
    C. Wiper Arm
    D. Auto Anti-Fog Sensor (Refer to "Auto Anti-Fog Sensor" in Group HA)
    E. LDWS Unit (Refer to "LDWS Module" in Group BE)
    F. Rain Sensor (Refer to "Rain Sensor" in Group BE)
    G. Interior Rearview Mirror
    H. Front Pillar Trim
