Towing Services

If emergency towing is required, we recommend that it be performed by an authorized Kia dealer or a commercial towing service. Correct lifting and towing procedures are necessary to prevent damage to the vehicle.
The use of wheel dollies or a flatbed is recommended.
On all-wheel drive vehicles, your vehicle must be towed using a wheel lift and dolly, or on a flatbed with all wheels off the ground.
CAUTION
Do not tow an all-wheel drive vehicle with the wheels on the ground. This may cause serious damage to the transaxle or the all-wheel drive system.
On 2-wheel drive vehicles, it is permissible to tow the vehicle with the rear wheels on the ground (without a dolly) and the front wheels off the ground.
If any of the loaded wheels or suspension components are damaged, or if the vehicle is towed with the front wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the front wheels.
When towing with a commercial tow truck without wheel dollies, always lift the front of the vehicle, not the rear.
WARNING
If your vehicle is equipped with side and curtain airbags, place the ignition switch in the LOCK or ACC position while towing the vehicle. The side and curtain airbags may deploy when the ignition is ON and the rollover sensor detects a rollover situation.

CAUTION
- Do not tow the vehicle in reverse with the front wheels on the ground, as this may cause damage to the vehicle.
- Do not tow the vehicle with sling equipment. Use a wheel lift or flatbed equipment.
When towing the vehicle in an emergency without wheel dollies:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
2. Shift the gear shift lever to the N (Neutral) position.
3. Release the parking brake.
CAUTION
If the shift lever is not placed in the N (Neutral) position, internal damage to the transmission may result.
