The yaw rate and G-sensor is built into the airbag control module (SRSCM). When the vehicle rotates about its vertical axis, the yaw rate sensor electronically detects the yaw rate from changes in vibration of the tuning fork inside the sensor. If the yaw rate reaches a specified value after vehicle yaw is detected, ESC control is activated again. The G-sensor detects the lateral G of the vehicle. A small element inside the sensor is attached to the yaw rate lever. The direction and magnitude of the lateral G applied to the vehicle can be known by the change in electrostatic capacitance caused by the lateral G. Specifications
