The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is installed in the MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) and sends messages to the HECU via the CAN communication line. The SAS is used to determine the steering direction and the steering wheel speed. The HECU uses signals from the SAS when performing calculations related to ESC. The components of the EPS system (steering angle sensor, torque sensor, fail-safe relay, etc.) are located inside the steering column and the EPS unit assembly. The EPS unit cannot be disassembled for inspection. It must be replaced. (Refer to the "ST (Steering System) Group")
