Tilt and Telescopic Steering

~1min read

The tilt and telescopic steering allows you to adjust the steering wheel before you drive. You can also raise it to give your legs more room when getting in and out of the vehicle.

The steering wheel should be positioned so that you can comfortably operate the wheel while seeing the warning lights and gauges on the instrument panel.

WARNING - Steering Wheel Adjustment

Never adjust the steering wheel angle or height while driving. You may lose control of the vehicle.

► Manual Type

To change the steering wheel tilt angle, pull down the release lever (1), adjust the steering wheel to the desired angle (2) and height (3), then pull up the lock lever (4) to lock the steering wheel in place. Be sure to adjust the steering wheel to the desired position before driving.

✽ NOTICE

After adjusting, the release lever may sometimes fail to lock the steering wheel. This is not a malfunction. It occurs when the two locking teeth are not properly engaged. In this case, adjust the steering wheel again, then lock the steering wheel.

► Electric Type

Adjust the steering wheel tilt angle (2) and position (3) using the switch (1) on the steering column. Position the steering wheel so that it points toward your chest, not your face. Make sure you can see the warning lights and gauges on the instrument panel.

After adjusting, push the steering wheel up and down to make sure it is locked in position. Always adjust the steering wheel position before driving.

✽ NOTICE

To prevent battery discharge, do not operate the vehicle with the engine off.
