- If the warning light comes on with the parking brake released, it indicates that the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low.
If the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low:
1. Carefully drive to the nearest safe place and stop the vehicle.
2. With the engine off, immediately check the brake fluid level and add fluid as necessary (for more information, refer to "Brake Fluid" in chapter 7). Then inspect all brake system components for fluid leaks. If any brake system leak is still found, the warning light remains on, or the brakes do not operate properly, do not drive the vehicle. In this case, tow the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer and have it inspected.
Dual Diagonal Brake System
Your vehicle is equipped with a diagonal dual brake system. This means you still have braking on two wheels even if one of the dual systems fails.
When only one of the dual brake systems is operating, more pedal force will be required to stop the vehicle.
Additionally, the vehicle's braking distance will increase with only part of the brake system operating.
If the brakes fail while driving, downshift to a lower gear to slow the vehicle, stop the engine, and stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
Driving the vehicle with the warning light on is dangerous. If the parking brake & brake fluid warning light comes on with the parking brake released, it indicates that the brake fluid level is low.
In this case, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

These two warning lights illuminate simultaneously while driving:
• When the ABS and conventional brake system may not operate normally. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
WARNING - Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) Warning Light
When both the ABS and parking brake and brake fluid warning lights are on, the system will not operate normally, and you may encounter an unexpected and dangerous situation during sudden braking, which increases the risk of an accident and injury.
In this case, avoid driving at high speeds and hard braking.
Have your vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
✽ CAUTION - Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) Warning Light
When the ABS warning light or both the ABS and parking brake and brake fluid warning lights are on, the speedometer, odometer, or trip meter may not operate. In addition, the EPS warning light may come on and the steering wheel effort may increase or decrease. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Electronic Power Steering (EPS) warning lamp

This indicator light illuminates:
- After you set the engine start/stop button to the ON position.
- Remains on until the engine starts. - If there is a malfunction in the EPS.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)

This indicator light illuminates:
• After you set the engine start/stop button to the ON position.
- Remains on until the engine starts.
• When there is a malfunction in the emission control system.
In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION - Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
Driving with the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated may cause damage to the emission control system, which may affect drivability and/or fuel economy.
CAUTION
If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates, potential catalytic converter damage may occur, which may result in loss of engine power.
In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Charging system warning lamp

This indicator light illuminates:
- After you set the engine start/stop button to the ON position.
- Remains on until the engine starts. - If there is a malfunction in the alternator or the electrical charging system.
If there is a malfunction in the alternator or the electrical charging system:
1. Carefully drive to the nearest safe location and stop the vehicle.
2. Turn off the engine and check the generator drive belt for looseness or breakage.
If the belt is adjusted correctly, there may be a problem in the electrical charging system.
In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Engine oil pressure warning lamp

This indicator light illuminates:
- After you set the engine start/stop button to the ON position.
- Remains on until the engine starts. - When the engine oil pressure is low.
If the engine oil pressure is low:
1. Carefully drive to the nearest safe location and stop the vehicle.
2. Turn the engine off and check the engine oil level (for more information, refer to "Engine Oil" in chapter 7). If the level is low, add oil as necessary.
If the warning light remains on after adding oil, or if there is no oil, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
CAUTION - Engine Overheating
Do not continue driving with an overheated engine. Otherwise, the engine may be damaged.

❈For more information, refer to "Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)" in chapter 6.
• The TPMS cannot warn you of severe and sudden tire damage caused by external factors.
• If you notice vehicle instability, immediately release the accelerator pedal, gradually apply the brake pedal with light force, and slowly move to a safe off-road location.
This warning light remains on after flashing for approximately 60 seconds, or repeats flashing at intervals of approximately 3 seconds:
• When there is a malfunction in the TPMS. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
❈For more information, refer to "Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)" in chapter 6.
WARNING - Low Tire Pressure
- Significantly low tire pressure makes the vehicle unstable and may contribute to loss of vehicle control and increased braking distance.
- Continuing to drive on under-inflated tires will cause the tires to overheat and fail.
LED Headlight Warning Light

This indicator light illuminates:
• After you set the engine start/stop button to the ON position.
- Illuminates for approximately 3 seconds, then turns off.
• When there is a malfunction in the LED headlight.
