Low Tire Pressure Warning

The warning light (
) illuminates when tire pressure is insufficient. For certain vehicle types, the above message is displayed in the instrument cluster. If the warning light illuminates, reduce speed, avoid sharp turns and sudden braking. Have the vehicle inspected at a qualified workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or service partner.
Check the pressure of all tires and inflate them as necessary to the recommended tire pressure according to the specified procedure. Replace or repair tires as necessary.
If no workshop is nearby, park the vehicle in a safe place, check all tires, and perform the TPMS reset procedure. If the tire pressure cannot be adjusted or corrected, repair the tire with a repair kit or use the spare tire, and contact an authorized Kia dealer.

Tire pressure may be too low without being visually noticeable. Use accurate measuring instruments to measure and adjust tire pressure. Note that tires become hot after a long drive and therefore show higher pressure. It is recommended to measure and adjust tire pressure if the vehicle has traveled less than 1 km in the last 3 hours.
DANGER
- The display may continue to illuminate after installing the spare tire because the spare tire has a different radius. Replace with standard tires as soon as possible.
- From the standpoint of safe driving, note that the TPMS is not a substitute for proper tire maintenance. It is the driver's responsibility to maintain correct tire pressure. All tires should be checked monthly to maintain the recommended tire pressure.
- The warning lamp may come on if the system is not in the required condition.
- In cold weather the low tire pressure warning lamp may come on even when the tires have been inflated to the recommended tire pressure. This does not mean there is a malfunction of the TPMS. Low temperature causes a decrease in tire pressure. Check the tires and inflate them to the recommended tire pressure.
- The system performance may be disabled under the following conditions:
- Incorrect system setting
- Use of non-genuine tires (genuine tires are recommended)
- Driving on snowy, slippery roads or unpaved roads
- Sharp turns, extreme acceleration and repeated braking
- Driving too fast or too slow
- Driving with an overloaded vehicle
- Driving with a spare tire or snow chains - When the tires are inflated with air, the terms for deactivating the low tire pressure warning light may not be encountered. This is because the tire pump has a special fail-safe feature. The low tire pressure warning light is deactivated when the tire pressure is higher than the recommended tire pressure.
WARNING
- Driving with a significantly underinflated tire leads to overheating of the tire, which may cause tire damage. In addition, tire service life, vehicle handling, braking behavior, fuel economy and vehicle stability will be affected. Consult a specialized workshop and have the correct tire pressure reset. Kia recommends contacting an authorized Kia dealer or service partner.
- Sudden tire damage caused by external factors may not be displayed immediately. If the vehicle becomes unstable, immediately release the accelerator pedal and bring the vehicle to a safe position for inspection.
