To restart the engine from idle stop mode

  • Depress the clutch pedal when the shift lever is in the N (Neutral) position.
  • The message "Depress clutch pedal for auto start" will appear on the LCD display.
  • The engine will restart and the green AUTO STOP () indicator on the instrument cluster will turn off.

The engine will also restart automatically without any driver action if the following occurs:

- The blower speed of the manual climate control system is set above the 3rd position while the air conditioner is on.
- The blower speed of the automatic climate control system is set above the 6th position while the air conditioner is on.
- A certain amount of time has elapsed with the climate control system on.
- The defroster is on.
- The brake system vacuum pressure is low.
- The battery charge is low.
- The vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h.

The green AUTO STOP () indicator on the instrument cluster will flash for 5 seconds and the message "Auto Start" will appear on the LCD display.
