Brake/Clutch Fluid Level Inspection

~1min read

■ Type A

■ Type B

Periodically check the fluid level in the reservoir. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the reservoir.

Before removing the reservoir cap and adding fluid, clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent brake/clutch fluid contamination. If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX level. The level will drop with accumulated mileage. This is normal and is related to brake pad wear. If the fluid level is too low, we recommend having the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Use only the specified brake/clutch fluid. (Refer to "Recommended Lubricants and Capacities" in Chapter 8.)

Never mix different types of fluid.

WARNING! Loss of brake/clutch fluid

If the brake/clutch system requires frequent fluid addition, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

WARNING - Brake/clutch fluid

When changing or adding brake/clutch fluid, handle it carefully. Do not allow it to contact your eyes. If brake/clutch fluid contacts your eyes, immediately flush them with large amounts of clean tap water. Have your eyes checked by a doctor as soon as possible.

CAUTION

Do not allow brake/clutch fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as it will damage the paint.

Brake/clutch fluid that has been exposed to air for a long period must never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. It should be disposed of properly. Do not add improper fluid. A few drops of mineral-based oil, such as engine oil, in the brake/clutch system may damage brake/clutch system components.
