~1min read
1. Before closing the hood, check the following:
- All engine compartment filler caps must be installed correctly.
- Gloves, rags, or any other flammable materials must be removed from the engine compartment.
2. Return the support rod to its clip to prevent it from rattling.
3. Lower the hood to about halfway and push down to securely latch it in place.
- Then check twice to make sure the hood is securely latched.
- If the hood can be lifted with light force, open the hood again and close it more firmly.
WARNING - Hood
- Before closing the hood, make sure that all obstacles are removed from the hood opening. Closing the hood with an obstacle in the hood opening may cause property damage or serious personal injury.
- Do not leave gloves, rags, or any other flammable materials in the engine compartment. Doing so may result in a fire.
WARNING
- Always double-check to make sure the hood is securely latched before driving. If it is not latched, the hood may open while the vehicle is in motion, causing a complete loss of visibility that may lead to an accident.
- The support rod must be fully inserted into the hole whenever you inspect the engine compartment. This will prevent the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the hood open. Visibility will be blocked and the hood may fall or be damaged.
