1. Pull the hood release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop up slightly.

WARNING

Open the hood after turning off the engine on a level surface, shift the gear shift lever to P (Park) for automatic transaxle or 1 (First) gear or R (Reverse) for manual transaxle, and set the parking brake.

2. Go to the front of the vehicle, lift the hood slightly, push the safety catch inward at the center of the hood, and lift the hood.

3. Pull out the support rod.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

WARNING - Hot Components

Be very careful not to touch the support rod when the engine and parts are hot. You may get burned or seriously injured.
