Lower and firmly press the tailgate closed. Make sure the tailgate is securely locked.

WARNING

Make sure your hands, feet, and other parts of your body are clear of the path of the tailgate before closing it.

CAUTION

Make sure nothing is near the tailgate latch and striker when closing the tailgate. This may damage the tailgate latch.

WARNING - Exhaust Gas

If you drive with the tailgate open, dangerous exhaust gases may enter your vehicle and cause serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.

If you must drive with the tailgate open, keep the vents and all windows open so that additional outside air enters the vehicle.

WARNING! Rear Cargo Area

Passengers should never ride in the rear cargo area where seat restraints are not available. To avoid injury in an accident or sudden stop, passengers must always be properly restrained.
