Initialization and Diagnostic Sequence Using Diagnostic Equipment. The following is a summary of the A/S procedure using diagnostic equipment. Download Parameter
  1. Select the "AFLS" menu after selecting the vehicle.
  2. Select the "Load Parameter" menu to define the vehicle characteristics.
  3. Select LHD/RHD and MT/AT options according to the vehicle options.
  4. When "Download Parameter" is completed, the display appears as follows.
System Calibration
  1. Select the "AFLS" menu after selecting the vehicle.
  2. Select "Sensor Initialization - without ECS" if the vehicle has steel suspension.
  3. When "System Calibration" is completed, the display appears as follows.
  4. When "System Calibration" is not completed, the display appears as shown below.
  5. Select the "AFLS" menu after selecting the vehicle.
  6. Select "Actuator Test".
  7. Select the DBL or HLL test using the "Start" button.
  8. When DBL or HLL is selected, ACTUATOR DRIVE TO MAX POS (rotary): When the Start button is selected, move to the maximum position in the right direction (15°). When another item is selected: return to the initial position.
Actuator Drive Test: When replacing the H/Lamp Unit, always check it by performing an actuator drive test. AFLS Fail-Safe Function: If an error condition occurs in the AFLS system during operation, the system must respond to the failure to prevent glare to oncoming drivers. AFLS Fail-Safe Index

AFLS Setting Procedure: When replacing the AFLS ECU, the H/Lamp Unit or the height sensor, perform the setting procedure using the diagnostic equipment as described below. When performing the AFLS setting procedure, always confirm the suspension type and then load the parameter.
※ DTC: Diagnostic Trouble Code; DBL: Dynamic Bending Light; HLL: Headlamp Leveling; AFLS adjustment vehicle conditions
  1. Vehicle on level surface
  2. No vehicle movement
  3. Gear selector in P&N
  4. Ignition ON and engine speed >500 rpm
  5. Diagnostic equipment connected
  6. ALL ECUs on CAN installed and activated
  7. Battery voltage > 10.5 V (ECU power supply must be ensured)
  8. Light OFF
  9. AFLS ON or OFF
  10. Download delivery parameter
  11. Check B1661 (parameter missing)
  12. Ignition OFF.
  13. Ignition ON and engine speed > 500 rpm
  14. Download the corresponding parameter
