Using the Smart Key

Park the vehicle and turn off the engine. Activate the system as described below.

1. Turn off the engine.

2. Make sure that all doors, the hood and the tailgate are closed and locked.

3. • Lock the doors by pressing the button on the front door outside handle with the smart key in your possession. After performing the steps described above, the hazard warning lights will flash once to indicate that the system is armed.

If the tailgate or hood remains open, the hazard warning lights will not flash and the theft alarm will not arm. After that, if the tailgate and hood are closed, the hazard warning lights will flash once and the theft alarm will arm.

• Lock the doors by pressing the lock button on the smart key.

After performing the steps described above, the hazard warning lights will flash once to indicate that the system is armed.

If the tailgate or hood remains open, the hazard warning lights will not flash and the theft alarm will not arm. After that, if the tailgate and hood are closed, the hazard warning lights will flash once and the theft alarm will arm.
