1. Neutral Switch

Description and Operation

Description

  • The neutral switch signal is sent to the ECM in the neutral state.
  • The signal is blocked when shifting gears.
  • When the signal is blocked, the ECM controls the fuel injection volume using the mapping value for 1st gear so that the vehicle can start normally.

Repair Procedures

Inspection

  1. Remove the battery and battery tray. G 1.0 T-GDI KAPPA (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
  2. Disconnect the neutral switch connector (A).
  3. Check the continuity of the circuit between the power terminal and the signal terminal.

Removal

  1. Remove the battery and battery tray. G 1.0 T-GDI KAPPA (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
  2. Disconnect the neutral switch connector (A).
  3. Remove the neutral switch (A).

    Tightening torque: 39.2 - 59 N·m

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
