General Market

The standard maintenance schedule for gasoline engines [except Europe (including Russia)] requires the following maintenance to be performed to ensure good emission control and performance. Keep receipts for all emission-related vehicle services to protect your warranty. Where mileage and time are shown, the service interval is determined by whichever occurs first.
NO. ITEM NOTICE
*1 Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter Check the engine oil level and for leaks every 500 km (350 miles) or before starting a long trip.
*2 Engine Coolant When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft water for your vehicle, and never mix hard water with the factory-filled coolant. An incorrect coolant mixture may cause serious malfunction or damage to the engine.
*3 Drive Belts (Engine)
  • Adjust the generator, water pump and air conditioner drive belt (if equipped). Inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace.
  • Inspect the drive belt tensioner, idler pulley and generator pulley, and adjust or replace if necessary.
*4 Valve Clearance Inspect for excessive valve noise and/or engine vibration and adjust if necessary. In this case, contact a specialist workshop to inspect the system. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
*5 Spark Plug For your convenience, it may be replaced before the end of its service life when you perform maintenance on other components.
*6 Manual transmission fluid Manual transmission fluid should be changed every time the vehicle has been submerged in water.
*7 Fuel Additives (Gasoline) Kia recommends using unleaded gasoline with a RON (Research Octane Number) of 95 / AKI (Anti-Knock Index) 91 or higher (for Europe) or a RON (Research Octane Number) of 91 / AKI (Anti-Knock Index) 87 or higher (except Europe).
For customers who do not regularly use good-quality gasoline, including fuel additives, and experience starting problems or uneven engine operation, add one bottle of fuel additive to the fuel tank every 15,000 km (for Europe, Australia and New Zealand) / 10,000 km (except Europe, Australia and New Zealand, China, Brazil) / 5,000 km (for China, Brazil). Additives can be purchased at a professional workshop together with information on how to use them. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner. Do not mix other additives.
*8 External Fuel Filter The service interval depends on fuel quality. If you experience a problem such as restricted fuel flow, loss of power, difficult starting or fuel-related noise, inspect and replace the fuel filter or fuel pump immediately at a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
