- When AEB does not operate properly, the AEB indicator light (
) will illuminate and a warning message will appear for several seconds. After the message disappears, the master warning light (
) will illuminate. In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner. - An AEB warning message may appear together with the illumination of the ESC warning light.
WARNING
- AEB is only a supplementary system for driver convenience. The driver must remain responsible for operating the vehicle. Do not rely solely on the AEB system. Instead, maintain a safe braking distance and press the brake pedal to reduce speed when necessary.
- AEB may output warning messages and warning sounds unnecessarily. Also, due to recognition limitations, AEB may not output a warning message or warning sound at all.
- If there is a malfunction in AEB, brake control will not activate when a collision risk is detected, even though other braking systems are operating normally.
- AEB only operates for the vehicle ahead when driving forward. It does not operate for any animals or vehicles in the opposite direction.
- AEB does not recognize a vehicle crossing horizontally through an intersection or a vehicle parked across the direction of travel.
- If the vehicle ahead suddenly stops, there is a risk of collision. The driver must always remain alert for hazardous situations.
- When AEB is activated during sudden braking, objects inside the vehicle may shift and cause injury to occupants.
- When the driver presses the brake pedal in a collision risk situation, the AEB system may not operate.
- AEB may not operate depending on driving or traffic conditions, weather, and road conditions.
- AEB may not be available on all vehicles.
