Brake/Clutch Fluid

~1min read

Checking the Brake/Clutch Fluid Level

Check the fluid level in the reservoir periodically. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir.

Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake/clutch fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent contamination of the brake/clutch fluid.

CAUTION - Brake fluid selection

Use only brake/clutch fluid in the brake system. A small amount of an unsuitable fluid (such as engine oil) may cause damage to the brake system.

If the level is low, add fluid until it reaches the MAX level. The level will decrease as mileage accumulates. This is normal and is related to brake pad wear. If the fluid level is too low, have the brake system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Never mix different types of fluid.

If the brake system requires frequent fluid additions, the vehicle should be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Handle brake fluid/clutch fluid with care when replacing or adding it. Do not allow it to contact your eyes. If brake fluid/clutch fluid gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with plenty of clean tap water. Have your eyes examined by a doctor as soon as possible.

CAUTION - Brake Fluid/Clutch Fluid

Do not allow brake fluid/clutch fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as it will damage the paint.

Brake fluid/clutch fluid that has been exposed to open air for a long period must never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. Dispose of it properly.
