General Interior Precautions

Do not allow chemicals such as perfume, cosmetic oil, sunscreen, hand cleaner, and air freshener to contact interior parts, as they may damage or discolor them. If they contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. If necessary, use a vinyl cleaner. For proper use, refer to the product instructions.

WARNING! Electrical Components

Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical or electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage.

Cleaning Upholstery and Interior Trim

Vinyl

Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.

Cloth

Remove dust and loose dirt from fabric with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean with a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains immediately with a fabric stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated immediately, the fabric may become permanently stained and its color may change. In addition, its flame-retardant properties may be reduced if the material is not properly maintained.

Using any cleaning agents or procedures other than those recommended may affect the appearance and flame-retardant properties of the fabric.

Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing

Clean the seat belt webbing with any mild soap solution recommended for cleaning upholstery or carpet. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or dye the webbing, as this may weaken it.

Cleaning the Inside of the Window Glass

If the interior glass surfaces of the vehicle become fogged (i.e., coated with an oily, greasy, or waxy film), clean them with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.

CAUTION - Rear Window

Do not scratch or scrape the inside of the rear window. This may damage the rear window defroster grid.

Leather Seat Care (if equipped)

  • Vacuum the seats regularly to remove dust and sand. This will prevent abrasion or damage to the leather and help maintain its quality.
  • Frequently wipe natural leather seat upholstery with a dry or soft cloth.
  • Using a leather protectant sufficiently can prevent abrasion of the coating and help preserve the color. Be sure to read the instructions and consult a specialist when using leather coating or protectants.
  • Light-colored leather (beige, cream-beige) easily becomes dirty and stains show clearly. Clean the seats often.
  • Avoid wiping with a wet cloth. This may cause the surface to crack.

Cleaning Leather Seats (if equipped)

  • Remove all contaminants immediately. See the instructions below for removing each type of contaminant.
  • Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.)
    - Apply cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the stained area. Wipe off the cream with a damp cloth and remove water with a dry cloth.
  • Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.)
    - Apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe until the stain disappears. Do not spread the stain.
  • Oil
    - Immediately blot up the oil with an absorbent cloth and wipe with a stain remover for genuine leather only.
  • Chewing gum
    - Freeze the chewing gum with ice and remove it gradually.

CAUTION - Leather

When cleaning leather products (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use neutral cleaners or low-alcohol solutions. If you use high-alcohol solutions or acidic/alkaline cleaners, the leather color may fade or the surface may be damaged.

Cloth seat upholstery with precautions (if equipped)

Clean cloth seats regularly with a vacuum cleaner, taking into account the characteristics of the fabric material. If heavily soiled by beverage stains, etc., use a suitable interior cleaner. To avoid damaging the seat covers, wipe the seat cover up to the seams using long strokes and moderate pressure with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.

Hook-and-loop fasteners on clothing or sharp objects may snag or scratch the surface of the seats.

Avoid rubbing such items against the surface.
