Scheduled Maintenance
Scheduled Maintenance Precautions
Follow the normal maintenance schedule if the vehicle is normally operated under none of the following conditions. If any of the following conditions apply, follow the "Severe Duty Maintenance" schedule.
- Frequent short trips of less than 8 km (5 miles) in normal temperatures or less than 16 km (10 miles) in freezing temperatures
- Extended engine idling or low-speed driving over long distances
- Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, gravel, or salt-treated roads
- Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials, or in very cold weather
- Driving in severely dusty conditions
- Driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic
- Repeated driving uphill, downhill, or on mountainous roads
- Towing a trailer, or using a camper or roof rack
- Driving as a police vehicle, taxi, or other commercial use, or towing vehicles
- Driving at a speed above 170 km/h
- Frequent driving in stop-and-go conditions
If your vehicle is operated under any of the conditions listed above, you should inspect, replace or refill more frequently than indicated in the following normal maintenance schedule. After 120 months or 240,000 km (150,000 miles), continue to follow the prescribed maintenance intervals.
Scheduled Maintenance Schedule — Non-Turbo Models
The following maintenance items must be performed to ensure good emission control and performance.
Keep all receipts for vehicle emission-related services to protect your warranty. Where both mileage and time are shown, the maintenance interval is determined by whichever occurs first.
