Repair Procedures

Tire Wear

  1. Measure the tire tread depth.

Tread depth [limit]: 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.)

  2. If the remaining tread depth (A) is less than the limit, replace the tire.

Tire Rotation

Pull and Wander Test

If the steering pulls to one side, rotate the tires according to the following wheel rotation order.

  1. Swap the front right and front left tires, then perform a road test to confirm vehicle stability.

  2. If the steering pulls in the opposite direction, rotate the front and rear tires, then perform the road test again.

  3. If the steering continues to pull to the same side, rotate the front right tire and perform the road test again.

  4. If the steering continues to pull to one side, replace the front wheels with new ones.

Removal

  1. Remove the valve core and deflate the tire.

  2. Separate the tire bead from the wheel using a tire changing machine's bead breaker.

  3. Rotate the wheel clockwise.

Installation

  1. Apply soap or tire lubricant to the upper and lower tire beads.

  2. To install the lower bead, position the valve at the 5 o'clock position relative to the head on the tire changer.

  3. Place the tire on the rim so that the lower bead contacts the rim edge after the valve (6 o'clock). Rotate the rim clockwise and press down on the tire at the 3 o'clock position to seat the lower bead.

  4. After the lower bead is seated on the rim, rotate the wheel until the valve stem is at the 5 o'clock position relative to the tire changer head. Press down on the tire at the 3 o'clock position and rotate the wheel clockwise to seat the upper bead.

  5. Inflate the tire until both beads are seated.

Tire pressure: 230–237 kPa (33–34 psi)
