Kia Soul. Emergency tailgate safety release

Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency liftgate release lever located in the lower part of the liftgate. Use it if you need to open the liftgate urgently from inside the liftgate due to a discharged battery, a malfunctioning outside handle, or other reasons.

The liftgate can be opened by performing the following steps:

1. Insert the mechanical key into the hole.

2. Push the mechanical key to the right (1).

3. Lift the tailgate.

Do not grab the liftgate support (gas strut), as this may result in serious injury.
