WARNING

Ignition Key (Smart Key)

Leaving children unattended in the vehicle with the ignition key (smart key) is dangerous, even if the key is not in the ignition or the start button is in the ACC or ON position.

Children copy adults and may insert the key into the ignition or press the start button. The ignition key (smart key) allows children to operate power windows or other controls, or even cause the vehicle to move, which may result in serious injury or death. Never leave children unattended in the vehicle with the key, or with the engine running.

WARNING

Kia recommends using replacement parts from an authorized Kia dealer/service partner. If a non-genuine key is used, the ignition key may not return to the ON position after START. If this happens, the starter will continue to operate, which may cause damage to the starter and possible fire due to excessive current in the wiring.
