Making a call

Using the phonebook

Calls can be made by saying the name of a person in the downloaded phone book, or the name of a person whose phone number was registered earlier in the Bluetooth hands-free system. See "Importing Contacts (Downloading the Phone Book)".

1. Press the voice recognition button.

2. Wait for the beep.

3. Say: "Call XXXXX... (e.g.

"John") Mobile".

4. Follow the voice instructions to make the call.

Operating via the screen

1. Select the iconon the
home screen and display the communication screen.

2. Select Contacts to display the contact list.

3. Select the contact you want to call to display the details screen for that contact.

4. Select the desired phone number to make the call.

Importing Contacts (Downloading the Phone Book)

Via Bluetooth, you can import the phonebook from your device (mobile phone) into the Bluetooth hands-free system.

(Automatic Download)

The "Automatic Contact Download" setting must be turned on.

When the device is connected to the hands-free system, the phone book is downloaded automatically.

See "Communication Settings" on page 5-134.

(Manual Download)

When "Automatic Contact Download" is turned off, download the phone book as follows.

1. Select the iconOn the home screen
and display the Communication screen.

2. Select Contacts to display the contact list.

3. Select Edit Contacts.

4. Select Import All Contacts or Import Selected Contact.

5. If Import All Contacts was selected, select Download.

6. Downloading from the mobile phone will start.

CAUTION

• If all contacts are imported, the phone book stored in the Bluetooth system will be overwritten.

• Up to 1000 contacts can be stored in the phone book.

• The phone book, incoming/outgoing call history and Favorites memory are specific to each connected mobile phone to protect data privacy.

Favorite Contacts

Up to 50 contacts can be added.

Registering a phone number shortens the time needed to make a call. You also do not have to search the phone book for the person you want to call.

Adding to Favorites

1. Select the iconOn the
home screen and display the Communication screen.

2. Select Favorites to display the favorites list.

3. Select Add/Edit Favorites.

4. Select Add New Contact or Add New Contact Information.

5. Select from the displayed list.

CAUTION

If "Add New Contact" is selected, information such as the name of the selected person is also registered.

If "Add New Contact Information" is selected, only the phone number of the selected person is registered.

Making a call to a favorite contact

1. Select the iconOn the
home screen and display the Communication screen.

2. Select Favorites to display the favorites list.

3. (Only one phone number is assigned to the contact) Select the contact information you want to call.

Go to Step 5.

(Several phone numbers are assigned to the contact) Select the contact you want to call to display the details screen for that contact. Go to Step 4.

4. Select the phone number you want to call.

5. Select Yes.

Deleting contacts from favorites

1. Select the iconon the
home screen and display the communication screen.

2. Select Favorites to display the favorites list.

3. Select Add/Edit Favorites.

4. Select Delete.

5. Select the contact information you want to delete.

6. Select Delete.

Changing the display order of contacts in favorites

1. Select the iconOn the
home screen and display the Communication screen.

2. Select Favorites to display the favorites list.

3. Select Add/Edit Favorites.

4. Select Move.

5. The selected contact can be moved within the list.

6. Move the contact or drag it using the control knob, then select OK.

Renaming a contact in favorites

1. Select the iconon the
home screen and display the communication screen.

2. Select Favorites to display the favorites list.

3. Select Add/Edit Favorites.

4. Select Rename.

5. Select the contact to display the keyboard screen.

6. After entering the new name and selecting OK, the contact name is saved.

CAUTION

Press and hold a contact displayed in the favorites list to edit its information (delete, change).

Dialing a phone number

CAUTION

Practise this operation in a parked vehicle until you are sure it will not distract you while driving. If you do not feel confident, make phone calls after parking in a safe place, and only drive off when you can control the situation and concentrate fully on driving.

1. Select the iconon the
home screen and display the communication screen.

2. After pressing Phone, the phone keypad is displayed.

3. Enter the phone number using the phone keypad.

4. Select, to make a
call.

Entering a number or symbol

Use the phone keypad.

Press and hold the icon, to
enter +.

Select, to delete the last entry.

Press and hold, to
delete all entered characters.

Redial function

Calls the last person called (the last entry in the outgoing call list) from the mobile phone/in-vehicle system.

1. Press the voice recognition button.

2. Wait for the beep.

3. Say: "Redial"

Redial function

Calls the last person who called us (the last entry in the incoming call list) on the mobile phone/in-vehicle system.

1. Press the voice recognition button.

2. Wait for the beep.

3. Say: "Call back"
