Operating Guidelines

~1min read
  • Use the air conditioning with the engine running.
  • To avoid discharging the battery, do not leave the ventilation fan on for a long time when the ignition key is in the ON position and the engine is not running.
  • (With i-stop function) The amount of air supplied may decrease slightly while the i-stop function is operating.
  • To improve system performance, remove any debris such as leaves, snow and ice from the engine hood and the air intake grille under the windshield.
  • Use the air conditioning to remove condensation from the windows and to dehumidify the air.
  • Recirculation mode should be used when driving through tunnels or in traffic jams, or when you want to shut off the outside air supply to cool the interior quickly.
  • Use outside air intake under normal conditions and to defog the windows.
  • If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight, open the windows to release hot air from the interior, then turn on the air conditioning.

(With A/C switch)

  • Run the air conditioning for about 10 minutes at least once a month to lubricate its internal components.
  • Have the air conditioning system checked before a period of intensive use.

Loss of refrigerant reduces the efficiency of the air conditioning.

Refrigerant specifications are shown on the label located on the inside of the engine compartment. Read this label before adding refrigerant. Using the wrong refrigerant may cause serious air conditioning failure.
