Vehicles with automatic gearbox

Set the selector lever to P.

All vehicles

  • If one of the conditions for starting the engine is not met, the message "PRESS BRAKE + START", "PRESS CLUTCH + START" or "SET TO POSITION P" appears on the instrument panel.
  • In some cases, it is necessary to move the steering wheel while pressing start button 1 to help unlock the steering column; the driver is informed of this by the message "TURN STEERING WHEEL + START" on the instrument panel;
  • when starting the engine at a very low outside temperature (-10°C): keep the clutch pedal pressed until the engine starts.
